The Society of Antiquaries of London chooses Koha open source library management system, hosted and supported by PTFS Europe

(April 28, 2020). The Society of Antiquaries of London has chosen Koha as its new library management system to replace the previous Voyager solution. PTFS Europe is implementing the new system and will provide on-going hosting and support services. Koha will be integrated with the EDS discovery service, from EBSCO.

Soutron Global Launches Free Webinar Series

Recognizing the current uncertainty and disrupted convention plans, the series is designed to offer information professionals access to practical and free advice on personal and professional development. The free webinar series will help fill the void left by not being able to meet with clients and partners in person at conventions this summer. Respected industry experts/guest speakers will lead each 30-minute session.

Tulane University Libraries to adopt Ex Libris Alma library services platform

The move to the new platform will enable the university's libraries to unify the management of their electronic resources and make them as easily discoverable as possible.

(April 27, 2020). Traditionen tro er KOMBIT nu klar med FBS-årsrapporten for 2019. Årsrapporten rede¬gør for de organisatoriske tiltag, driften og videreud¬viklingen for FBS samt vores forventninger til 2020. Som noget nyt indeholder rapporten også emner om Fælles Biblioteksinfrastruktur, da vi arbejder hen imod en fælles organisering på biblioteksområdet i KOMBIT under betegnelsen 'Bibliotekernes Data og It' (BDI). Derfor vil I opleve, at årsrapporterne fremover vil komme til at dække hele dette område.

Over the past 2 years CLA and Kortext have worked closely in developing, enhancing and supporting the KeyLinks reading list management system which is now being used in libraries in the UK, Europe, Australia and the US.

Kortext, the UK-based digital textbook and learning platform provider, announces dmg ventures, the venture capital arm of Daily Mail and General Trust, has led a scale-up funding round in the Company. dmg ventures has subscribed for new shares in Kortext, run by founder and CEO James Gray. Manuel Lopo de Carvalho, CEO of dmg ventures, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company.

Announcing the launch of NISO's Contributor Role Taxonomy (CRediT) Initiative

Following its December 2019 announcement, the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) is pleased to announce the formal launch of its work to formalize and develop the Contributor Role Taxonomy (CRediT) as an ANSI/NISO standard. Clarivate Introduces New Open Access Data into Web of Science Journal Citation Reports

Evergreen Helps Libraries Cope With Pandemic Changes

(April 17, 2020). Features in the Evergreen library system software are assisting libraries using Evergreen cope with the evolving service landscape forced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Evergreen's Emergency Closing Handler enables libraries to quickly and easily shift due dates and hold shelf expiry dates to the next day the library is open and not increment fines while the library is closed. Settings can be different for different branches and locations in a library system. The Evergreen system can also extend patron expiration dates and hold expiration, presently requiring separate administrator actions, but targeted for adding to the Emergency Closing Handler in a later release.
