(January 8, 2020). Die Deutsche Vereinigung für Wasserwirtschaft, Abwasser und Abfall e. V. / DWA in Hennef befasst sich mit allen übergreifenden Wasserfragen und setzt sich intensiv für die Entwicklung einer sicheren und nachhaltigen Wasserwirtschaft ein. Als politisch und wirtschaftlich unabhängige Organisation arbeitet sie fachlich auf den Gebieten Wasserwirtschaft, Abwasser, Abfall und Bodenschutz. Sie ist zugleich Regelsetzer und Bildungsträger. In Europa ist die DWA die mitgliederstärkste Vereinigung auf diesem Gebiet und nimmt durch ihre fachliche Kompetenz bezüglich Normung, Bildung und Information der Öffentlichkeit eine besondere Stellung ein. Die rund 14'000 Mitglieder sind Fachleute und Führungskräfte aus Kommunen, Hochschulen, Ingenieurbüros, Behörden und Unternehmen.

A new relationship between EBSCO Information Services and Via Appia ensures that libraries in Brazil looking to adopt the FOLIO Library Services Platform will have access to local hosting and support services. Via Appia will provide FOLIO implementation and support services, backed by EBSCO-hosting technology and data services.

Public Libraries Reach Record-High Ebook and Audiobook Usage in 2019

(January 8, 2020). Due to their creative efforts in curation, managing multiple lending models and engaging patrons, librarians helped drive public library circulation of digital books to record highs in 2019. Libraries and schools around the world enabled their patrons and students to check out 326 million ebooks, audiobooks and digital magazines in the past 12 months, a 20% increase over the previous year. Publishers and authors benefited from the library's role as valued discovery channel which resulted in record library sales of digital titles across all genres for all audiences. This data was reported by Rakuten OverDrive, the leading digital reading platform for over 43,000 libraries and schools worldwide.

UC selects Ex Libris for Systemwide ILS

(January 6, 2020). The University of California (UC) Libraries have selected the Ex Libris Alma and Primo services to deploy the Systemwide Integrated Library System (SILS). The Council of University Librarians (CoUL) made this decision following the SILS Request for Proposal and careful consideration of the libraries' goals and requirements for a shared solution. We have reached this important project milestone thanks to the hard work and expertise of many; phase 3 involved over sixty project cohort members and extensive, systemwide consultation and review.

MOBIUS migrates Asbury Theological Seminary Library (KY)

(December 23, 2019). MOBIUS announced that the Asbury Theological Seminary B.L. Fisher Library, which utilizes the Evergreen ILS, successfully migrated and went live on its MOSS (MOBIUS Open Source Solutions) service on December 13, 2019. Previously, the Library was a self-supported Evergreen instance. MOBIUS performed data migration services and also provides data hosting and support to the Asbury Seminary Library.
