(March 30, 2020). ByWater Solutions announced that Jackson Memorial Library of Tenants Harbor, Maine is now live on Koha! ByWater completed the transition of the libraries' 15,000 plus holdings from the LibLime and is providing ongoing support services to the library.

Announcing a National Emergency Library to Provide Digitized Books to Students and the Public

(March 24, 2020). To address our unprecedented global and immediate need for access to reading and research materials, as of today, March 24, 2020, the Internet Archive will suspend waitlists for the 1.4 million (and growing) books in our lending library by creating a National Emergency Library to serve the nation's displaced learners. This suspension will run through June 30, 2020, or the end of the US national emergency, whichever is later.

New York High School captures 2020 Follett Challenge Grand Prize

(March 23, 2020). Mineola High School of Garden City Park, NY was named the Grand Prize winner of the 2020 Follett Challenge. The Nassau County-based school, with an enrollment of 1,026 students, earns $30,000 in Follett products and services and a celebration at their school for its entry, “Empowered Students: Preparing Students for the 4th Industrial Revolution.”

Coronavirus-Impacted Libraries Get Unlimited Access to Ebook Central Holdings

ProQuest has partnered with more than 50 publishers to support libraries in providing unlimited access to Ebook Central holdings for all patrons – at no extra charge.The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is having an unprecedented effect on higher-education institutions across the globe. Many libraries have found they suddenly need to support a new level of distance learning and research – and access to electronic resources is imperative.To support this urgent need, ProQuest has partnered with more than 50 publishers to support libraries in providing unlimited access to Ebook Central holdings for all patrons – at no extra charge.Starting this week, ProQuest Ebook Central customers impacted by COVID-19 will get unlimited access to all owned titles from these publishers through mid-June. This means that all licenses – including single-user and three-user models – will automatically convert to unlimited access during that period, helping librarians bridge the gap for their patrons in this rapidly changing environment. The unlimited access also applies to additional titles purchased through mid-June.

When ProQuest and Ex Libris announced the acquisition of Innovative, we believed we could accelerate the pace of innovation in our industry and create new and better options for libraries....We are holding off on some other integration plans. As is typical with many merger and acquisition transactions in the United States, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) routinely evaluates the potential impact on competition and customers, and we received a formal notification of a review of the acquisition of Innovative. We remain confident that the acquisition will positively impact the industry and increase choice for libraries worldwide. We are working with the relevant parties and hope to be through this process soon.

Mellon Foundation appoints Jonathan Holloway to its Board of Trustees
